From One Truck to a Growing Transport & Logistics Business
Joel and Sarah’s journey began in the rural town of Goondiwindi, Queensland. Together since 2006 and married in 2008, they are proud parents of two children and the driving force behind the family business they have built together.
In the early years, Joel spent much of his time on the road, as a single owner-driver while working hard to build the business. Alongside completing deliveries, he was securing new contracts, developing client relationships and pursuing opportunities to grow JSM. Meanwhile, Sarah balanced full-time work and raising their young family while managing the administration that kept the business running behind the scenes.
Like many family businesses, the journey came with its challenges. Balancing life on the road, family responsibilities and the demands of a growing business required commitment, resilience and teamwork. Through it all, Joel and Sarah continued to support one another, sharing the challenges and working towards a common goal.
In 2015, following their second relocation to Brisbane, Sarah was able to join Joel in the business full-time. Working side by side, they continued to build on the foundations they had established, strengthening customer relationships and expanding JSM’s operations.
Today, JSM represents the hard work, dedication and family values that have shaped its journey from the beginning. More than just a transport business, it reflects Joel and Sarah’s shared vision and the relationships they have built with growers, merchants, customers, industry partners and subcontractors over the years.
