Our History

With humble beginnings, JSM was established in 2013 in the thriving regional town of Goondiwindi, Queensland. Joel and Sarah worked tirelessly through challenging conditions, facing rising costs and the threat of drought on the forecast.

By 2015, the drought had prompted the family to relocate to Brisbane, where JSM quickly adapted and secured a major logistics contract with a Swedish brand newly established in Australia. JSM was entrusted with managing all of the client’s logistical requirements going forward, marking a significant turning point in the growth and development of the business.

As drought conditions worsened across Western Queensland, Brisbane continued to yield growth for JSM. New opportunities emerged in the importation of feed grains. With this shift and newfound interest in the shipping world, JSM evolved its business model and began to obtain contracts with leading agricultural merchants along the East Coast.

Today, JSM provides the majority of logistics for bulk vessel operations within the Port of Brisbane area.

Whilst undertaking operations at the Port of Brisbane, JSM also continues to secure on-farm contracts from growers across New South Wales and Queensland to accumulate grain in support of shipping clients’ export programs.

Over the past eleven years, Joel, Sarah, and the JSM team have taken great pride in the company’s growth—from a single owner–driver operation in 2013 to a well-established logistics provider employing several staff, operating trucks, machinery, and equipment, and working alongside more than 100 subcontractors.

JSM’s greatest achievement remains the consistent quality of service we provide, and the relationships we continue to build and maintain with our clients and suppliers.
