2013

  • JSM Bulk Carriers Established in Goondiwindi, Queensland as a single owner-driver business.
  • The business begins by transporting bulk grain and cotton during harvest.
  • In the period following harvest—and before drought conditions set in—JSM adds livestock transport to its services.
  • As the drought emerges, JSM provides 12–18 months of support to a Queensland gas company, transporting water pipes and water tankers across Western Queensland.

2015

  • Family relocates to Brisbane due to drought conditions in Western Queensland and support business growth.
  • JSM secures a major logistics contract with a newly established Swedish brand in Australia, managing all logistical requirements for a global supplier of timber products.

2015-2017

  • JSM takes on transport responsibilities assisting in the unloading of bulk vessels for a leading Australian agribusiness, supporting major grain logistics operations within the Port of Brisbane (POB)

2016-2021

  • JSM Introduced container packing and destuffing services for bulk, raw, and timber materials, supporting clients across the mining, agriculture, and construction sectors.

2019

  • JSM secures its first direct POB contract with on the client originally serviced during the 2015–2017 years.

2021

  • JSM secures another major client at the POB: a Swiss global agribusiness engaged in producing, originating, and marketing fertilisers and grains. JSM supports their operations by delivering bulk transport from berth to shed.

2022

  • JSM expands into bunker-to-berth bulk transport services for agricultural storage and shipping company Rain-Ag.

2023

  • JSM secures another POB client specialising in large-scale bulk export facilities and bulk material supply chains.

2024

  • JSM takes on full management of Rain-Ag’s shipping.
  • JSM Bulk Shipping is established, marking the company’s expansion into large-scale agricultural storage, handling, and shipping.

2025

 

  • Due to severe volatility in global shipping markets, fluctuating transport and freight rates, and unsustainable industry conditions, both Rain-Ag Shipping and JSM Bulk Shipping enter liquidation.
  • This difficult chapter becomes a moment of reflection, reinforcing the importance of staying grounded in the company’s core strengths and focus on personalised relationships with both clients and growers.
